Hope for the city of Detroit has been slowly dwindling over the last year and a half. The Lions went 0 -16, most of the American car industry makers are getting ready to or have already filed for bankruptcy, GM is looking to move its headquarters, and KFC is no longer accepting the free chicken meal coupons. Things couldn’t possibly get worse. Could they?
One man has hope though. Former University of Central Florida running back, and current Detroit Lion Kevin Smith has hope for the city of Detroit and most importantly the Lions. Personally, I feel the bar for the Lions is going to be set pretty low next season, so anything that doesn’t result in an 0-16 record would be a welcomed improvement. But alas, Mr. Smith has far bigger plans and far bigger promises to make. Repeated to self with fingers crossed Please don’t promise making the playoffs, please don’t promise making the playoffs.
From Smith’s website
I won’t make a prediction about how many games we’re going to win, but I will say this: We will definitely make the playoffs this season.
Fuuuuuck…You couldn’t have just promised a win?
